Amanda Kara - Chief Development OfficerAmanda Kara — Chief Development Officer

In 1988, Amanda immigrated to Kenya as a refugee from Sudan, then immigrated to the United States in 1995. In 2005, Amanda graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a BS in Biology-Chemistry and an MA in Exercise Physiology. While at UAB, Amanda was Captain of the Track & Field Team and distinguished herself as a varsity letterman, academic all-American and all-conference star. Since 2008, Amanda has lent her considerable talents to HVU, handling monthly budget operations. With three marathons under her belt, Amanda also enjoys coaching other runners and is a personal trainer at the Chatham Club of Chatham, NJ.

Aryatuha Brian - Enrichment Program DirectorARYATUHA BRIAN — Director

Brian graduated from Kabale-Bukinda Core Primary Teachers’ College in 2008 and graduated from National Teachers’ College Kabale in 2018 with a diploma in Primary Education. He is recognized as a certified primary teacher by the Ministry of Education and has taught in the Nyaruhanga region since 2008. Brian joined the Enrichment Program in 2012 teaching mathematics and science. He was promoted to Program Director in 2019.

Byakozirwe Allam - assistant  director of the enrichment programByakozirwe Allam — Assistant Director

Allam was born in 1987. He completed senior four at Buhara Secondary School in 2005 and was awarded a Uganda Certificate of Education. He graduated as a grade three teacher from Kabale Bukinda Core Primary Teachers’ College in 2008, and completed his diploma in education primary in 2021 from National Teachers’ College Kabale. Allam has worked in the Nyaruhanga area since 2009, and is currently working at Nyaruhanga primary school and the EP. He joined EP in 2014 teaching science, and is now responsible for science, games and sports at the EP. Allam is a nationally registered teacher.

Byensi Godfrey - teacherByensi Godfrey — Teacher

Godfrey was born in 1986. He completed senior four at Nyaruhanga High School in 2005 and was awarded a Uganda Certificate of Education. He graduated as a grade 3 teacher from Kisoro Primary Teachers’ College in 2008 and has been working in the Nyaruhanga area since then. Godfrey is a registered teacher under the ministry of education and sports, and is currently working at Kabirizi Primary School and the EP. He joined the EP in 2014 and teaches social studies and is responsible for discipline among students.

Gumoshabe Lainas - cookGumoshabe Lainas — Cook

Lainas was born in 1995. He joined the EP in 2014 as a cook.

Keneema Monica - teacherKeneema Monica — Teacher

Monica was born in 1989. She completed senior four at St Charles Lwanga and was awarded a Uganda Certificate of Education in 2006. She graduated as a grade 3 teacher from Kabale Bukinda Core Primary Teachers’ College in 2009, and completed her diploma in education primary in 2022 from National Teachers’ College Kabale. Monica is a registered teacher under the ministry of education and sports, and is currently working at Rubanda Mixed Primary School and the EP. She joined the EP in 2020, and she teaches English grammar at the EP and is responsible for music, dance, drama and is a senior woman teacher.

Kyomuhendo Agnes - teacherKyomuhendo Agnes — Teacher

Agnes was born in 1992. She completed senior four at St Kizito Secondary School in 2012, and graduated as a grade 3 teacher from Kabale Bukinda Core Primary Teachers’ College in 2015. Agnes has worked in the Nyaruhanga area since 2016, and works at Nyarurambi Primary School and the EP. She is a registered teacher under the ministry of education and sports. She joined the EP in 2022, and teaches religious education and is reponsible for health and chapel.

Mukwasiibwe Gad - head cookMukwasiibwe Gad — Head Cook

Gad was born in 1969. He has worked as a cook at Nyaruhanga CDC since 1994 and joined the EP in 2012.

Turamye Danes - teacherTuramye Danes — Teacher

Danes was born in 1965. He completed senior four at Nyaruhanga High School in 1986 and was awarded a Uganda Certificate of Education. He completed senior six in 1990 and was awarded a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education. Danes graduated as a grade 3 teacher from Kabale Bukinda Core Primary Teachers’ College in 2000, and completed his diploma in education primary in 2008 from National Teachers’ College Kabale. He is a registered teacher under the ministry of education and sports. Danes has been working in the Nyaruhanga area since 2000, and is currently working at the Nyaruhanga Primary School and the EP. He joined the EP in 2016, and is teaching English comprehension and working as a senior man teacher.
